I called upon Death - 17 Mar 2015
I called upon Death
To take me from this place.
Death replied, "It is not time,
Come no more to Me."
So I called upon Life,
To give to me,
A new sense of longing.
Life gave to me naught, but an empty stare.
After an eternal pause,
Life responded thus:
"Seek not Death nor Life in this place,
For neither will you find.
But rather seek for Hope and Peace.
For these will give your life Life"
Then Life and Death departed from me
And I was left alone to sort and stew on what Death and Life had taught me.
Perhaps someday, I will find the meaning of these words.
But, perhaps, not until I meet Death for the final time.
I called upon Death
To take me from this place.
Death replied, "It is not time,
Come no more to Me."
So I called upon Life,
To give to me,
A new sense of longing.
Life gave to me naught, but an empty stare.
After an eternal pause,
Life responded thus:
"Seek not Death nor Life in this place,
For neither will you find.
But rather seek for Hope and Peace.
For these will give your life Life"
Then Life and Death departed from me
And I was left alone to sort and stew on what Death and Life had taught me.
Perhaps someday, I will find the meaning of these words.
But, perhaps, not until I meet Death for the final time.
