Joey Calkins is a singer, stage director, and composer.  Past credits include Director, Facing East; Conductor, Pirates of Penzance; Aeneas, Dido and Aeneas; Rev. Parris, The Crucible; Melchior, Amahl and the Night Visitors; Lighting Designer, Steel Magnolias; Don Alfonso, Cosi fan tutte in Concert; Music Director/Stage Manager, Li’l Abner; Smudge, Forever Plaid; Director/Set Designer, An Ideal Husband; Madama Butterfly; Herr Zeller, The Sound of Music; and Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, Anything Goes. Upcoming engagements include Craig Hella Johnson’s Considering Matthew Shepard and a solo vocal recital featuring the works of Henry Purcell. Calkins is the Founder/General Director of the Utah/Idaho Performing Arts Company (UNIPAC).
